registering to use Broadplace you are accepting the conditions for use
set out below:
► Never leave a laptop unattended
►
The Aston on Clun Broadplace laptops have a range of software suitable
for most uses. All requests for software additions or changes should be
made to Aston Broadplace at astonbroadplace@tiscali.co.uk or speak to
Michelle Harding at The Kangaroo Inn
► Software is installed to
prevent access to web pages that contain obscene, indecent,
pornographic, paedophilic, abusive, racist or an extreme political
nature content
► You are responsible for any activity on the laptop
while you are using it. You must not attempt to access the operating
system, settings, programs or management data unless you know they are
intended for your use
► You must not use the Broadplace facilities for personal financial gain, gambling, political purposes or advertising
► The use of public chat rooms is not allowed
► You must not download/upload inappropriate material
►
You must not hold or process information about individuals except in
accordance with the provision of the Data Protection Act of 1998. Users
must respect the copyright and source of text and images, whether
typed, downloaded or scanned
► E-mail attachments may contain
inappropriate material, malicious programs or possibly a virus. You
should be very careful when opening attachments especially from unknown
senders. Do not run or install programs or .exe files received by email
or from a CD or USB memory stick
► If you receive e-mails warning of
security breaches and viruses, please alert Michelle/volunteer helpers.
Do not forward them to others; many are hoaxes or false alarms.
► If
you transmit personal or private information, including credit card or
bank details, addresses etc. over the Internet, Aston Broadplace takes
no responsibility for any consequences
► You should be aware that
Aston Broadplace team monitors the activity on each computer. If it is
found that the computer has been used inappropriately, you will be
warned. Failure to heed a warning will lead to computer access being
denied in the future.
► Please keep food and drink away from all equipment
► Use of laptops ends at 10.30pm
► Michelle reserves the right not to loan laptops at times when the pub is very busy eg quiz nights or Bank Holidays
►

log out of your email and any financial websites as soon as you have
finished: never leave a logged in laptop unattended
► Use web-based email only - no personal files should be saved to the hard drive
► The Kangaroo Inn has legal responsibilities: please help by abiding by the rules
